Youth Art Exchange is collaborating with Root Division to present New Growth 2017: EmPOWERing Peace, Justice & Love, an annual Youth Art Celebration & Exhibition, featuring hands-on family art-making activities alongside artwork exhibitions and live performances. Join us to see work by students in all disciplines of the 2017 Spring Session at Youth Art Exchange – including Printmaking, Photography, Architecture, Filmmaking, Fashion Design, and Digibeats. May 5, 2017 – November 16, 2017 | Digging In: YAX’s young photographers explore green spaces in San Francisco’s southern neighborhoods. See Visitacion Valley, Bayview, Excelsior, and the Portola district through the lens of youth who call these neighborhoods home.

June 28–29 | YAX Summer Internships Showcases. Youth Art Exchange’s summer interns spend one month learning new skills, working alongside established artists, gaining job experience, and deepening their connections to local communities. Our summer 2017 internships include Printmaking, Filmmaking, Traditional Percussion, and Architecture.
Gallery Exhibition: Wednesday, June 28th, 3-5PM @ The Art Gallery at SFSU’s Cesar Chavez Student Center, 1650 Holloway Avenue.
Artist Panel & Performance: Thursday, June 29th, 4:30-7PM @ Koret Auditorium in the main branch of the San Francisco Public Library, 100 Larkin Street.
