We will be crafting easy-to-make Aztec & African textile earrings. These earrings are lightweight and super fun to create. This free workshop has 20 spots and is suitable for folks 12+, and will require the use of a hot glue gun, scissors, and bead reamer.

A free art kit of materials needed will be mailed out to participants, so sign up by Wednesday, February 17 to secure your kit!

Marisol Catchings-Frank is a San Francisco Bay Area artist and entrepreneur. She is the owner and creator of Azteca Negra, an art and accessories business that celebrates African ancestry in Latin America, as well as co-founder of Just BE, a community for Black Women Entrepreneurs. Marisol is best known for her art and most recently for her community-centered, Masks for Healthcare Campaign, which provides free handcrafted face masks to healthcare and frontline workers. She has been featured by Cosmopolitan, CNN, Telemundo, and many online publications for this community work. It is Marisol’s passion to create positive reflections of Black and Latinx cultures through art, and to uplift and create opportunities for Black and Brown entrepreneurs to create sustainable businesses.

Textile Earring Workshop- In this free workshop, we will be crafting easy-to-make Aztec & African textile earrings with Marisol Catchings-Frank. These earrings are lightweight and super fun to create.

Participants will need:

• your own pair of scissors

• a free kit of all other materials needed for the workshop must be picked up by at [x]space at 5137 Mission Street in San Francisco on Monday, November 16th from 5-7pm. This kit will include everything you need to make the earrings, including a hot glue gun, bead reamer, fabric, and more. This can be picked up by you or someone you know.

Technology needed for this course: Laptop, tablet, or smartphone to access LIVE Zoom 2-Hour Class

Materials needed for this course: Your own pair of scissors and free kit picked up at [x]space

There are 15 spots in this workshop, sign up now! Participants will receive a Zoom link for the workshop after signing up. Please sign up only if you can confirm someone can pick up the supplies for you on 11/16.
