Ready or Not! is a visual art exhibition and workshop series by Lacey Johnson, exploring Disaster Preparedness in the Excelsior and Beyond. Ready or Not! is a residency at Youth Art Exchange's [x]space arts hub, 5137 Mission Street at Geneva Ave in the Excelsior. All events are free and open to the public, materials provided.

You stayed ready and rode it out. This workshop envisions what it looks like after you were prepared. We will look at images of Post Disaster Growth and create imagined landscapes using found objects from the neighborhood.

Youth Vs. Apocalypse: Environmental Justice IS Emergency Preparedness, 1-2pm
Youth Vs. Apocalypse is a diverse group of young climate justice activists working together to lift the voices of youth, in particular, youth of color, and fight for a livable climate and an equitable, sustainable, and just world.
DIY Gas Mask Workshop & Gas Mask Nature Walk, 2-4pm
We will learn about air filtration methods and make our own gas masks. Ending in a Nature Walk, we will experience the neighborhood while wearing our masks and observe things to look for related to Preparedness.
Lacey Johnson is an interdisciplinary artist and arts educator whose work is part manifesto, part pedagogy, and part thrift store self help book. She uses art and organizing to push social dialogue, and has prepared for hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes.
Lacey is also a former Youth Art Exchange Filmmaking faculty artist.
