About Digital Filmmaking

Digital Filmmaking is the newest addition to Youth Art Exchange’s class offerings.

Learn to write, direct, and edit your own short films as well as collaborating with other students to tell their stories. We will learn how all aspects of film production like screenwriting, pre- production, cinematography, directing, sound design, animation, and editing. At the end of the semester we will have a film festival to show off all of our films that we made.

Digital Filmmaking meets Mondays and Wednesdays at Youth Art Exchange.

Matthew Brown | Lead Faculty

Matthew is a filmmaker who lives in Berkeley. Matthew received a BFA in Film from the University of Colorado with an emphasis in Cinematography and Editing. In addition to filmmaking, Matthew has a passion for photography and is the darkroom assistant for the Black and White Photography class. His work has been shown at the San Francisco Underground Short Film Festival, the Emerging Filmmaker’s Project, Another Cafe, and Looking Glass Photo.
