It’s bittersweet to announce that our Director of Development Amy Díaz-Infante will be leaving Youth Art Exchange at the end of this month. She has decided to focus on her arts practice full time and will remain in the Bay Area as a friend and supporter. Amy has been a dedicated and passionate member of our staff and faculty for nearly 6 years.
In having a vibrant community of artists at YAX, it is one of our great hopes that they will be able to dedicate themselves fully to their arts practice. Amy’s departure from YAX will be felt all around- in our programs, among our staff, and in the relationships that she has fostered in her time at YAX.
Best of luck, Amy!
I’ve been so proud to be a part of the growing and talented YAX team for the last 5 and ½ years. I’ve been lucky to experience our organization from multiple perspectives – joining initially as the first faculty member in Printmaking, then dedicating to YAX full-time as the Associate Program Director, and finally ending my tenure as the first Director of Development + Communications. I’ve developed a breadth of knowledge and wealth of relationships through these transitions, and similarly, have seen our organization grow in leaps and bounds over this relatively short period of time.
I’ve seen Youth Art Exchange develop new community partners, found the now annual San Francisco Youth Arts Summit, and even take on a new name and brand. I’m proud to have been a part of this amazing community of artists, of all ages. I’m moving on so that I can dedicate more time to my own artistic practice, and look forward to keeping in touch with all of you through the new and exciting things yet to come.
